Frank Lampard spent the majority of his early years playing soccer in his local park with the rest of his family. He has constantly been observed as a very determined individual, and that quality was linked with him from an early age.

He was first marked by England U-21 manager Peter Taylor, and his under-21 first appearance came on 13 November 1997 in a competition against Greece. In international career, since making his first appearance in October 1999Lampard has been played 82 times by England, and has made 20 goals. I'm confused about Frank Lampard, the 29 year-old Chelsea and England midfield player. He has sixty England caps scoring fourteen goals, and has won an FA Cup, a League Cup and two Premiership medals. He was runner up in both World and European player of the season in 2005, won the Football writers and PFA fans player of the year in 2005 and was the England fans player of the year twice in 2004 and 2005.

Lampard played 287 games for West Ham and scored 39 goals before moving to Chelsea where he has netted 99 times in 349 appearances. All in all, it can be seen that Frank Lampard has had a wonderful career so far. So why is it then that fans don't like him and the media constantly speculate about who he is unable to play alongside?
Chelsea Union
Obviously, as far as I know, the Chelsea fans still love Lampard, and indeed, why shouldn't they. Almost a goal every three appearances is some record for a midfield player. However, he is hated by West Ham fans, and always was, even when he played for them. I don't understand why, but it is a fact.
Chelsea Union
Earlier this season he was booed by England fans when he came off the bench against Estonia, and then every time he touched the ball in a game against Brazil. Throughout his England career people have said that he is unable to play alongside Liverpool's Steven Gerrard, and now at club level, it is being said that he can't play alongside Michael Ballack.
Chelsea Union
As far as I know, Lampard has never done or said anything particularly awful. He has only ever been red carded once in his career, and seems to be a dedicated, loyal and hard working footballer. I don't see why he is subject to so much criticism.
Chelsea Union
I have never been Lampard's greatest fan as a player, and even when he was winning all the awards in 2005, I couldn't see what everybody else seemed to be able to. His record, however, speaks for itself, and I have always admired the way he conducts himself and plays the game.
Chelsea Union
Lampard must look in his trophy cabinet at his caps, awards and medals and then read the articles written about the fans dislike, and his inability to be able to perform alongside either of England's or Germany's top midfield players, and wonder what on earth he has done wrong.
